Florence Isabell (Pettigrew) Braaten

BRAATEN-Florence Isabell (nee Pettigrew), late of Prince Albert, SK formerly of Birch Hills, SK passed away February 23, 2011 at Mont St. Joseph Nursing Home, Prince Albert at the age of 86 years. She was born December 7, 1924 Antikokan, ON to Wilbert and Isabell Pettigrew. Florence lived all her life in the Bonnie Hill District near Birch Hills, SK. On November 30, 1942 she married 68 years to Albert Braaten and together they raised nine children, Donald (Del) Braaten; Joan Devenis of Birch Hills; Darlene (Larry) Evans; Barbara (Ken) Stangeland of Birch Hills; Paul (Betty) Braaten; Grace (Ernie) Beauliua of Airdrie, AB; Marilyn (Keith) Stangeland of Prince Albert, SK; Joy (Merle) Evans of Prince Albert, SK and the late Robert Albert Braaten of Birch Hills, SK; their family increased by 25 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren. Florence is survived by her sisters: Ivy Evans of Minnedosa, MB; Edna Wickstrom of Weldon, SK and Barbara (Russell) Snow of Saskatoon, SK; brother-in-law Lemar Soyland. Florence was predeceased by her son Robert Braaten; son-in-law Alex Devenis; parents; sisters Eva Schmidt, Grace Soyland and Nora Hanson; brother William Knox. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at 2:00 pm at Lake Park Baptist Church, Birch Hills, SK with Pastor Matthew Teigrob officiating. Interment Birch Hills Cemetery.
