Gary Braaten Obituary

BRAATEN, Gary Lynn, April 11, 1955- August 25, 2012

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our son, brother and uncle, Gary Braaten, late of Birch Hills, SK. Gary was born in Prince Albert, SK at the Victoria Hospital on April 11, 1955. He graduated in 1974 from Birch Hills High School. Gary went on to further his education at Moose Jaw Tech, where he received his Journeyman Electrician. Later in years, he received his Journeyman Welders. Gary worked for International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 529 for over 35 years. Gary enjoyed family gatherings. In his younger years, Gary would love to tinker and build go-carts and motorbikes. Gary enjoyed teasing his nieces and nephews.

Left to mourn his passing are his parents: Mervin and Lorna Braaten; his three brothers: Marty, Dwight (Diane), and Trent (Deanne); his four sisters: Debbie (Terry), Bev (Richard), Roxanne (Mike) and Chris (Ray); as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Gary was predeceased by his grandparents: Martin & Francis Braaten and William & Olive Mattice; his sister-in-law: Judy Braaten; his uncles: Ray Braaten, Louis Braaten, Gordon Lockwood and Cliff Skaar; and his aunt: Rena Jeffery.

The family would like to thank everyone who helped Gary with his illness through the years.

A Private Family Service will be held.
