Kenneth Beckman Obituary

BECKMAN Kenneth Elwin, late of Paddockwood. It is with deepest sadness that we announce that Ken Beckman, beloved father, passed away at Koperas Care Home on January 7, 2013 with his loving family by his side. Dad was born on his grandparents farm south of Saskatoon on February 25, 1916. Dad moved to Paddockwood with his family in 1931. On July 12, 1940, Dad married the love of his life, Myrtle Aspvik. Ken & Myrtle moved the house that Ken built to their own home quarter by horse and sled in 1944. They raised their five children in this home.

Dad was an honest, hard-working man and did many things to provide for his family. He had a mixed farm operation, including grain, cows, pigs, turkeys, chickens and sheep. He also operated a sawmill and built and renovated buildings in the area. Dad retired from farming in 1988. He and his wife of 70 years had the opportunity to travel throughout Canada and the USA. In 1998 they moved to their condo in Prince Albert. Ken was a patient, kind and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He leaves to mourn his sons: Elwin (Pat) Beckman of Saskatoon, Ray (Barlette) Beckman of Paddockwood, John Beckman (Mindy Garcia) of Saskatoon; his daughters: Kathleen Brown (Brian Buchanan) of Prince Albert, Dianne (Kurt) Chesley of Prince Albert; his grandchildren: Darrin (Darla) Brown, Lynnette (Michael) Lewendon, Blake Beckman (Sarah Woods), Bart (Brenda) Beckman, Brett (Jeanette) Beckman, John Beckman (Andrea Burton), Sarah (Lee) Walker , Trevor Beckman, Mark (Roxanne) Beckman, Kent (Beth) Beckman, Rebecka Chesley, Lisa Rideout; his great-grandchildren: Taran & Tiarra Brown, Hunter and Bridget Lewendon, Joshua & KayLyn Beckman, Tyler and Riley Beckman, Jameson Beckman, Parker Walker, Katherine and Charlotte Beckman, Leif and Liam Beckman, Logan Rideout; his in-laws: Alietha Beckman, Mary Aspvik, Helmer and Lois Aspvik, Gladys Kuzyk, Sandra Beckman and numerous nieces and nephews.
