Paul Nyland Obituary

Paul Eugene Nyland

It is with great sorrow that we the family of Paul Eugene Nyland announce that Paul passed away suddenly in Leduc, Alberta on August 2, 2012. Paul was born on August 6, 1964 to Anne and Eugene Nyland. He was the eldest of three children and lived in Prince Albert for most of his adolescence. Paul went onto post-secondary education and earned an instrumentation engineering diploma and a career working for Esso which took him and his family away from Prince Albert, first to Fort St. John and finally to Norman Wells, NWT where they lived for the last twelve years. Pauls activities included hunting and fishing with his uncles and cousins in his younger years, and more recently with his close friends in Norman Wells. He also purchased a piece of land along the shoreline of the Mackenzie River where he boated and snowmobiled enough materials to build himself a cabin which he loved to go to and spend time with his family, friends, and his dog Scamp until health issues forced him to not be able to go there anymore. Paul is survived by his wife: Lori Nyland; his three children: Danielle, Jana, and Gabe; his mother: Anne Marie Nyland-Hart; his mother in law: Frances (Palmer) Jacobson; his sister: Myra (Ernest) Valcourt; his three brothers: Peter, Matthew, and Lee; his brother in law: Lynn (Laurie) Regnier; his great grandmother: Alexandrine Richard; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Paul was predeceased by his grandparents: Ivor and Anna Nyland; his grandfather: Louis Richard; his father: Eugene Nyland; and his sister: Marnie Elizabeth Nyland. Paul had an incredible sense of humour and a contagious smile and was loved by almost everyone he met. Paul you were such a great guy. Rest in peace, you will be missed. A celebration of Pauls life will be held for family and friends on Friday, August 10th at 11:00am at MacKenzie Chapel with an interment to follow in Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made in Pauls memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association-Saskatchewan Division,104-2301 Avenue C North, Saskatoon, SK S7L 5Z5.
