Ralph Paul Obituary

PAUL - Ralph William passed away peacefully with his loving wife and children at his side on October 13, 2010 in Prince Albert, SK at the age of 83 years. Ralph was born and raised in Swift Current, SK on January 21, 1927. At the age of 18, he entered The Salvation Army Officer Training College in Toronto. Ralph served as an Officer (Minister) in Meadow Lake, The Pas and Nipawin, where he met and married Colleen Brass. For the next five years, Ralph worked as a postal clerk in the Nipawin Post Office. Ralph and Colleen then moved to Prince Albert, where Ralph began his twenty-seven year career as a Correctional Officer in the Saskatchewan Penitentiary. Ralph loved nature. Whether gardening, walking, or visiting his beloved mountains, Ralph saw in nature the God he loved. Ralph was a gifted natural musician. He was the church organist and played for many years in The Salvation Army band. In his long retirement years of giving to others, Ralph also provided the music at services in seniors residences throughout the community. Ralph is survived by his wife Colleen and three children, Gordon (Bunnie), Marilyn (George) and Catherine; grandchildren Robert (Jenny), Jillian (Michael), Megan, Adam, Daniel, Samuel, Gabrielle and Blake; great-grandchildren Ellie and Aoife. Ralph is predeceased by his brothers Gordon and Wallace; his granddaughter Heather; his daughter Kim and her daughter Shasta. Visitation will be at 7pm on Friday, October 15, 2010 at Northern Funeral Service MacKenzie Chapel, Prince Albert. The Funeral Service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, October 16, 2010 at The Salvation Army Community Church, 163-12th Street East, Prince Albert with Major Glenn Patey. Interment will follow at South Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Salvation Army, Prince Albert.
