Mr. Rex George Powder late of Prince Albert passed away peacefully at the Victoria Hospital on Sunday October 23rd , 2011 at the age of 77 years. George was born in Camsell Portage on September 23, 1934 to his parents Robert and Vitaline Powder. Rex is survived by his loving family; His companion, Bella Sanderson of La Ronge, SK; his daughthers, Peggy Sanderson of Yellowknife, NWT, Betty Powder (Wolfgang Maass) of La Ronge, SK, Debbie (Peter) Rybchinski of Yellowknife, NWT, Wanda Powder of Prince Albert, SK, Darlene Powder of Yellowknife, NWT and Mona (Dean) Desjarlais of Prince Albert, SK; sons, Bill Robert (Cyndi) Powder of Yellowknife, NWT, Ken (Mary) Powder of Yellowknife, NWT, Rex Lorne Jr. (Mary-Rose) Powder of Fort Smith, NWT and Dwayne Powder of Saskatoon, SK; his numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; mother of his children, Agatha (nee Mercredi) Powder of Prince Albert, SK; his sisters, Rose Pon of Edmonton, AB, Georgina Mercredi of Fort Smith, NWT, Annie (Jake) Glowach of Green Court, AB, Florence French of Vernon, BC, Edna Woodward of Fort Smith, NWT and Darlene Powder of Fort Smith, NWT; his brother, Oliver Powder of Yellowknife, NWT; his numerous aunts and uncles; his numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; Rex was predeceased by; his mother, Vitaline (nee Cardinal) Powder; his father, Robert Powder; his brothers-in-law, Tom Pon, Herb Mercredi, Gordy French and Elmer Woodward; his nephews, Randy Mercredi, and Tim Herchak. Wake Service will be held Thursday October 27, 2011 at St. Johns Anglican Hall Fort Smith, NWT. Funeral Service will be held on Friday October 28, 2011 10:00am at the St. Josephs Cathedral, Fort Smith, NWT with Father Paul Payyapille officiating.
