Richard Leonard Larson passed away peacefully at the Victoria Hospital, Prince Albert, SK on Friday, November 23, 2012 with all his family around him at the age of 89. Richard was born in the Glen Mary District on January 28, 1923. He married Francine, his beloved, on July 21st 1952. They lived in the Horseshoe Bend District, Birch Hills, then made their home in Prince Albert. Dad love his farm north of Weldon. He loved being outdoors driving the tractor, making big gardens, and cutting wood for his two brothers Joe & Earl Larson. Dad loved life, he always had a big smile, and he was kind to everyone he met. But Dads biggest passion in life was his music, his accordion, his timing, his beat, with his big loving hands playing music that made everyone get up and dance. He taught each of his children & grandchildren and anyone he knew how to play. The guitar, mandolin, violin and drums were some of the instruments he played. Dad worked in construction as a well known finishing grader operator. He retired in 1988 from the R.M of Prince Albert. He was presented with a certificate of appreciation for playing his accordion in Prince Albert and surrounding areas for the many senior homes. Dad was always there for his family. He will be missed but will always be in our hearts forever. Dad leaves behind his children: son Garry Larson (Katherine), grandson Don, and great-grandchildren Caitlin & Donovan; daughter Deborah (Ben) Smith, grandsons Dillyne (Raylene), Dean (Stacey), and great-grandchildren Riley & Madden, Hailey & Meaghan; son Leonard Larson (Dana), grandchildren Christopher (Sara), Gary, Jessica (Courtney), Nicolette, and great-grandchildren: Izaiah, Jaiden, Willow, & Hesper; daughter Karen (Frank) Brassard, grandchildren: Raelene (Rob), Ryan (Nicole) Royden, great-grandchildren: Logan, Jacob & Nicholas; daughter Christina Larson (Eddie); his sister Edna Andreason of Strathmore, Alberta; and a special friend Sam Bober. Dad was predeceased by his wife: Francine Phyllis Larson (Deschambeault); his parents: Isaac & Christina Larson; his brothers: Earl & Joseph Larson and his great grandson: Ethan Benoit Smith. The Family would like to thank level 5 Nursing staff and Dr. Egbeyemi for the wonderful care given to Dad. A Private Family Interment will be held at a later date.
