Wilma Pillar Obituary

Pillar, Wilma- late of Prince Albert passed away on Monday, June 6, 2011 at the age of 93 years. Wilma was born in Arbakka, MB. on May 2, 1918 to Kostantine and Ilina Ferchuck. She came to Saskatchewan in 1926 with her family. Wilma married Harry Pillar on December 22, 1943 and they lived in Spruce Home where they raised their family. In 1970 they moved to Waskesiu where they resided until their retirement. Harry and Wilma enjoyed their retirement in Prince Albert bowling, gardening and travelling. Wilma will be lovingly remembered by her sons: Wayne (Cheryl) and Harvey (Wendy); her grandchildren: Keith (Kana), Heather (Kevin) Straf, Crystal (Christoph) Meier and Barbara (Morgan) Thompson; her great-grandchildren: Jin Pillar, Kaitlyn & Koen Straf, Jordyn Pillar, Leo Ferguson, Haley & Ashley Pillar, Holly and Quinn Thompson. Wilma was predeceased by her husband: Harry Pillar; her parents: Kostantine and Ilina Ferchuck; her sisters: Mary (Nick) Kosowan, Verna (Mike) Starchuk and Annie (Tom) Bennet; her brothers:Alex (Mary) Ferchuk, Bill (Helen) Ferchuk, Steve (Elsie) Ferchuk, George (Sophie) Ferchuck, Matt (Stephanie) Ferchuk and John Ferchuk. The family would like to thank the staff of the Herb Bassett Home for the excellent care they gave Wilma during her stay at the home. In lieu of other tributes memorial donations may be made to the Herb Bassett Home. Funeral service will be held Friday, June 10, 2011 ~ 11:00 am at Northern Funeral Service-MacKenzie Chapel with Pastor Daniel Haugen officiating. Interment at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens.
